Position Description:
We are in search of a talented professional to join our collective as a Senior Planner/Urban Designer. The candidate will primarily be responsible for leading planning and urban design projects, with involvement in all phases of the project process. Working independently and in collaboration with firm Principals, Directors, Project Managers, and Designers, the Senior Planner/Urban Designer will work on a wide variety of public and private projects, with an emphasis on planning and visioning for the public realm. Project types include design guidelines, corridor plans, parks master plans, community
engagement, and placemaking projects. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, open collaborators,
and share our commitment to equity, community, and design excellence.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or
a related field.
• Eight (8) or more years of professional experience, with demonstrated experience in Planning.
Experience managing planning and urban design projects is a plus.
• High level of proficiency in planning processes, principles, and best practices.
• Demonstrated competency in ArcGIS Pro and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with other Esri
software such as Urban and City Engine a plus. Competency with other relevant software, such as
Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD, and 3-D modeling software is preferred.
• Experience and/or interest in public engagement and diverse community-centered processes.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and research and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with firm colleagues, clients, consultants, and community
members.
• A commitment to design excellence and innovation.
• Certified Planner, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture professional license is preferred.
