Executive Assistant - Chicago Cubs

Who: Chicago Cubs

What: The Executive Assistant, Legal/Community Affairs provides administrative support and office management for the Cubs’ Legal/Community Affairs department. The department oversees Cubs’ charitable and corporate donation and outreach efforts, neighborhood, community, communications and government relations, and works to generate positive support for Chicago Cubs and its charitable and community programs. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide organizational and administrative support to EVP, community affairs and chief legal officer and department personnel including expense tracking and processing, donation tracking, ticket orders, correspondence, filing, corporate organization and maintaining calendars. 
  • Establish strong working relationships with management and Associates throughout the organization.
  • Assist in the transactional management of departmental budget and expense management. 
  • Coordinate, schedule and support community affairs events, meetings, entertainment activities, etc., including scheduling appropriate facilities. 
  • Assist in the implementation of Community Affairs programs, including donated items program, ticket issues and other departmental activities as requested. 
  • Assist EVP, Community Affairs/Legal and other members of the Community Affairs team on club- and Cubs Charities- related activity as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills among all organizational levels. 
  • Fluency on Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Sales Force. 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with executive management. 
  • Strong communication and writing skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner and manage time efficiently and effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Flexibility and ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and game days. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working in the non-profit sector 
  • Problem solving and on-the-spot troubleshooting expertise 
  • Poise and professional presence
