What: At its core, NUMO is an alliance organization. The alliance is a big tent from the start, taking a movement strategy approach, called for by the fact that 140+ stakeholders from multiple sectors are already supporters of the Shared Mobility Principles. Our allies - cities and their advisors, private companies, and the public - enable us to amplify and expand current best practices, create synergies among stakeholders, and fill research, pilot, communications and advocacy gaps. NUMO allies influence and participate through various channels: from the Steering Committee and Working Groups to our community of Amplifiers. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Manager for Alliances and Partnerships to build and support the critical day-to-day functioning of the alliance to ensure its success.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research on organizations and individuals with potential to play a strategic role in NUMO – from its Steering Committee and Advisors to its various Working Groups
- Support the Alliance and Partnerships Senior Manager to coordinate across Working Groups and manage relationships with our allies
- Develop protocols and templates that support the team to have a consistently high-quality engagement with allies that is unique, equitable, and authentic
- Support the development of content for and logistics of meetings with the Steering Committee
- Support Senior Managers to organize Working Group meetings
- Two+ years of relevant, full-time work experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree preferred
- Prior work experience with project management is required
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and can work independently or in a startup team environment
- Demonstrates ability to diffuse conflict and ensure productivity
- Set priorities and solves a range of general problems independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Professional demeanor and superior people skills
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and the Internet Ability to learn and use software applications
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
