Transportation Planner, New York City, NY

NYC – Transportation Planner
Position: Sam Schwartz is seeking a Transportation Planner in our New York office. The selected individual will provide support to various transportation planning and engineering projects, such as city-, district- and corridor-level plans, master plans, environmental and land use review studies, roadway design, transportation demand management plans, multi-modal facilities, traffic impact studies, and bicycle and pedestrian plans.  The position’s responsibilities include:
  • Research on industry practices
  • Fieldwork/site visits
  • Preparation of technical reports and environmental review documents
  • Preparation of conceptual designs
  • Development of presentation materials
Requirements: 
  • 1 to 4 years of transportation planning/engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in urban planning or related field.
  • Understanding of current and emerging transportation planning and engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS.
  • Familiarity with the New York City Environmental Quality Review and ULURP procedures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
