Job Number: 267280 Description Department of Family and Support Services JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Number of Position(s): 1 Vacancy ESSENTIAL DUTIES This position is primarily responsible for serving as a high-level planner/grants unit liaison between the Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) Divisions; City Departments involved in the grants management process, the Office of Budget and Management (OBM), the Law Department, and the Department of Finance/Grants and Project Accounting Division (GPAD); and federal, state, and private grantors. The position is responsible for coordinating the development and preparation of DFSS grants, adhering to City polices for the processing of grant applications and awards; and ensuring that the Department follows the appropriate grantor guidelines to submit and process grant applications and awards on time. The position is also responsible for identifying new funding sources to support DFSS Divisions’ ongoing activities, new initiatives, and special projects. This will include contributing to grant applications as a subject matter expert by assisting to write grant narratives and researching appropriate content to be included in the grant application (including standards, theoretical frameworks, analysis of data, evaluations, and trends). The position will also review and interpret pending state and federal legislation that could impact departmental funding and propose next step actions. This position may also be tasked with performing research and the analysis of data, trends, and standards to support grant development work. This position is also tasked with preparing grant-specific activity and Grants Unit reports. This position serves as a liaison between other departments, government agencies and community groups on joint planning projects; and represents the department at community meetings regarding planning projects.
