Program Associate, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) - Hybrid (Chicago, IL)

 

About the job

CORE, in partnership with the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), is seeking a Program Associate to work at vaccination clinics at select City of Chicago colleges for the fall/winter immunization season. The Program Associate will work alongside the CORE Chicago management team to successfully get patients vaccinated, ensure the smooth operation of clinics and maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism while on site.

This is a Temporary position through December 31, 2024.

Main Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients with a friendly and professional demeanor and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Provide clear information about vaccination procedures and answer or direct any patient inquiries or concerns.
  • Help with patient check-in and check-out processes and assist in the preparation and documentation of vaccination records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CDPH guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the clinicians to facilitate the efficient administration of vaccines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation that is always stocked with necessary supplies for position.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols during clinic operations.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of vaccination clinics.
  • Assist in collecting data related to clinic operations, including number of patients vaccinated, inventory levels, and other requests.
  • Support the smooth flow of clinic operations by queuing patients, managing their questions, and assisting with the registration processes.
  • Monitor and report any adverse reactions or incidents to the Site Manager immediately.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings, community health work or event coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Scope And Travel
  • Reports to the Site Manager
  • Travel to and from the Chicago office and select City of Chicago colleges is required.
  • 0% travel required outside of Chicagoland area.
  • Availability to work every Saturday during the fall/winter months is required.

Experience
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, public health, or customer service role preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.

Skills And Competencies
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Comfortable with basic data entry and record-keeping tasks.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about vaccination procedures and public health practices.

$19 - $19 an hour

In accordance with law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
