Policy Analyst, Grubhub Holdings

About The Opportunity 

This position should be located in Washington, DC, New York City, or Chicago

The role will report to the Vice President of Government Affairs and will coordinate with our Legal, Marketing, and Communications Teams. This role is multifaceted, covering policy analysis, legislative tracking, identifying and understanding ongoing policy and government relations trends, stakeholder management, corporate campaign contributions management and other related issues. The ideal candidate is resourceful, will show up everyday with hustle and enthusiasm, and will demonstrate the ability to quickly pivot, prioritize and engage in other issues and projects as they arise.


Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain an active list of state, local and federal legislation and regulations of interest to our business. 
  • Work cross-functionally to help build cohesive strategy and prioritize the movements of prioritized policy and regulations. 
  • Draft policy update communications for senior and executive teams and external audiences. 
  • Organize and maintain internal policy tracking, documents, statements, background, and relevant briefing materials. 
  • Create, keep, and maintain, internal policy and government relations calendars. 
  • Identify and grow opportunities to build company proactive policy positions 
  • Manage grassroots advocacy programs for Call To Action campaigns. 
  • Help manage external policy consultants, and stakeholder engagement 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related concentration; 
  • At least 3 years of experience serving in government, industry coalitions, and/or internal corporate government relations or policy roles 
  • Strong analytical skills required to develop and maintain multiple policy related databases 
  • Experience with legislative processes at the municipal, state or federal level 
  • Experience working with policymakers, advocates, trade associations and/or other constituencies to develop advocacy strategies to advance policy goals 
  • Direct policy experience, particularly with marketplace-based organizations 
  • Proven track record of leading initiatives, hitting goals, and succeeding in a team environment 
  • Experience operating cross-functionally in an organization, creating consensus and executing action plans 
  • Top notch public speaking and writing ability 
  • Results-driven approach at both the strategic and tactical levels 
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment 
  • Positive energy on a daily basis is a must 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
