Engagement Manager, MxD

Who: MxD

What: The Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading MxD’s programming initiatives as well as managing a range of engagement and communications activities. Programming responsibilities will include developing and executing a strategy for in-person, virtual, and hybrid workshops and webinars to deliver relevant content to MxD’s manufacturing ecosystem. Member communication support will include activities like developing member success stories, sourcing member insights, and grant writing. Support for engagement activities will include managing member inquiries, providing onsite assistance for member events and preparing the senior leadership team for a variety of member interactions. The ideal candidate will have a proven record for delivering highly successful thought leadership and experiential events and would have demonstrated success working cross-functionally with technical/engineering and marketing teams. This position is ideal for a self-starter who has a passion for relationship building and an ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and distill them into a straightforward narrative that resonates with stakeholders ranging from engineers to executives. This candidate should like working in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads a holistic programming strategy that aligns programs with marketing and project strategies driving engagement prior, during, and after events
  • Leads the project management of event logistics and planning including managing partners, speakers, and contracted resources/vendors as well as aligning with the communication and the corporate events teams on all event-related communications and logistics
  • Collaborates with the MxD programs and technical teams to research and identify potential event speakers, exhibitors, and attendees
  • Explores and assesses new event opportunities to drive engagement goals and increased event ROI
  • Develops externally facing presentations, grant applications, talking points, and other materials for MxD’s senior leadership team
  • Supports membership engagement through building and maintaining relationships and identifying additional opportunities for them to deepen their involvement
  • Supports membership communication activities by developing member success stories, building partner concept proposals, and managing general member outreach and updates
  • Conducts event and engagement analysis and derives insights related to programming and related business goals
  • Supports the Director of Engagement in executing on member retention/satisfaction, additional channel partner development, and overall engagement strategy
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field
  • 6 years of experience in B2B event planning, experiential marketing, communications, corporate, startup, or non-profit, preferably in the technology sector
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; exceptional ability to communicate and present to senior-level staff
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and use good judgment when resolving issues
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple events in various stages of the planning process simultaneously; extremely detail-oriented; professional demeanor
  • Ability to function independently with little guidance and to complete projects in accordance with set timelines
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineering and marketing teams
  • Strong ability to build interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior-level executives
  • Strong PowerPoint slide design capability 


Salary

  • 70,000- 80,000/ Annually
