Assistant - Delta Institute (due in one week)

ASSISTANT, PROGRAMS Core Skillset An Assistant is an entry-level position that serves as an integral of the Delta Institute team. As an Assistant, the employee will be the first line of organizational and programmatic support. Assistants will excel at cross-functional duties. In this role, the Assistant is expected to be flexible in fulfilling the various aspects of the day-to-day operations of specific Delta programs. The Assistant will be a motivated team player that is adept at disseminating information and is detail oriented. Other core skillset attributes are:
  • Provide basic support and technical assistance to Delta staff
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with programmatic tasks and initiatives
  • Timely and accurate completion of all deliverables
  • Have basic analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have basic knowledge of environmental issues
Position Specifics What you’ll be doing:

Technical 
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data and translate information into meaningful, high quality deliverables
  • Research and review data from industry and scientific reports
  • Create and compile new data sources which may involve conducting surveys and phone calls
  • Understand hypothesis testing and conducting scientific inquiry with both controlled and uncontrolled experiments
  • Create presentations and reports, as assigned
  • Support technical and operational staff on Delta initiatives including but not limited to: energy, ecosystems, waste and urban land revitalization.
Program Management
  • Manage multiple tasks for a variety of projects, complete tasks on time and within the provided budget while maintaining Delta’s high standard for deliverables
  • Work in a support capacity on projects and/or project tasks as part of a project team
  • Participate productively in team planning and implementation meetings
  • Represent Delta at project and client meetings
  • External communication and coordination with partners and clients
  • Assist and support team with proposal and budget development
What you’ll have:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1-2 years of overall relevant experience
  • Strategic and excellent organizational skills be a self-starter who is motivated, and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and visualize data
  • Statistics experience • Basic proficiency with database analysis and querying languages 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and manage work in sometimes ambiguous situations
