Business Liaison Assistant - West Central Association (Chicago)

Who: West Central Association Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s growing membership works together to encourage a healthy business environment by providing a unified voice for our members, supporting thoughtful development, encouraging mutual support, and attracting new businesses, institutions, and residents to the area. WCACC is a City of Chicago Delegate Agency and sole service provider for Greektown Special Service Area #16.

What: The full-time Business Liaison Assistant​ will lead efforts to support a growing membership base and build a stronger sense of community. WCA is looking for a self-motivated, extremely collaborative and organized person with a desire to help businesses grow. The position reports to the Executive Director and supports the various committees that support their mission. WCA offers a flexible schedule and can include early evening work hours. Annual salary commensurate with experience. Specific responsibilities include:
Administrative Support (50% of Time)

  • Be on the front line of membership communication, including taking calls, responding to emails, and follow-up 
  • Maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents 
  • Update & organize databases and calendar 
  • Streamline filing system 
  • Assist with WCA’s events and post event follow-up 

Marketing & Communication (40% of Time)

  • Manage email marketing initiatives including curated and original content 
  • Build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar that promotes WCA mission and members on our marketing channels (including blog posts, emails, website, photography, video, etc.) 
  • Manage and engage WCA’s social media channels and presence including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, and additional channels deemed relevant 
  • Pre and Post event marketing and follow-up 
  • Assist with all events 

Participate in various committee, Board of Director, and community meetings (10% 0f Time) 

Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Excellent writer and communicator (in both the written and verbal form) 
  • Excellent writing and ability to be creative 
  • Good understanding of Quickbooks and online tools (Google Suite) 
  • Ability to learn and collaborate in a fast paced environment 
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts Bonus Skills: Adobe Creative Studio, Hubspot, Squarespace, Paypal, Square, Constant Contact, Mailchimp
