Experience: 3-5 years

The Town of Bennington seeks a qualified individual for the position of Community Development Director. This position reports directly to the Town Manager and is a member of the Town's management team. The Community Development Director provides oversight of the municipality’s efforts related to the advancement of the Bennington community including media programming and use, marketing, and community public relations. The Director implements community-based initiatives and policies that contribute to the overall advancement of the following areas: thriving schools, healthy homes, safe neighborhoods, and vibrant streets and economic vitality.

Qualified applicants must possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum three (3) years of experience in the field of community development, economic development, municipal planning, and/or public relations and a working knowledge of municipal government or government operations. He/she must be highly-motivated with excellent writing and speaking skills, be team oriented and be fluent in PowerPoint, Excel, and website/social media development and use.
