The County of Los Angeles Department of Regional Planning is seeking qualified candidates to fill vacancies for the position of Regional Planning Assistant II (RPA II). The RPA II exam filing period will close on February 28, 2015 at 5:00 pm PST.
The RPA II position is responsible for performing a variety of technical planning work functions including providing land development counseling and project/case processing, processing land use entitlement applications, participating in community studies and long-range development projects, enforcing regulatory compliance with the County's Zoning Code, etc.
The Department of Regional Planning is responsible for performing all land use planning functions for the County's unincorporated areas comprised of more than 2,600 square miles and representing two-thirds of the County's land. The unincorporated areas of the County are socially and economically diverse. Therefore, the Department must consider a broad range of constituents, from individual homeowners, to large land owners, to community groups, to future generations of Los Angeles County residents. The Department is made up of three (3) planning divisions consisting of the Advance Planning Division, the Current Planning Division and Land Use Regulation Division. Within these divisions are organizational units aligned by operational focus and geographic area for serving the widespread communities of Los Angeles County.
