The Center of Competence for Public Management (CCPM) at the University of Bern is an inter-faculty unit with close ties to the economics, social sciences and legal studies faculties. The CCPM works in interdisciplinary teaching, training and research in the field of public management and administrative science. The CCPM is currently advertising for a professorship in the fields of Public Management, Public Administration, and Organization Studies.

Open Rank Professorship in Public Management/Public Administration with a focus on Organization Studies

(Assistant Professorship with Tenure Track or Associate Professorship/Extraordinarius, Employment grade 80-100%)

The successful applicant should make a significant contribution in both research and teaching to the University of Bern's strategic focus on "Politics & Public Administration". The specific tasks include:

·Covering the areas of Public Management and Public Administration with a focus on Organization Studies in research and teaching. Possible themes of interest are: Public Governance, Autonomy and Accountability, Reforms and Institutional Change, Organizational Scope, Outsourcing, Contracting Out, Networks, Inter- and Intra-organizational Ties, Organization Theory. Other subjects that would complement the institute's profile are also welcomed (e.g. Public Financial Management, E-Government, Public Communication).

·Teaching and further education as part of the range of services provided by the CCPM

·Linkage of the CCPM with the international scientific community and procurement of external funding

·Involvement in the self-management of the University and CCPM

Requirements include

.Doctorate and postdoctoral qualification ('Habilitation' or equivalent credentials for Associate Professorship/Extraordinarius)

.A strong publication record in leading international journals

.Teaching experience at university-level

Remuneration is based on the pay and grade regulations of the canton of Bern. All standard application documents should be submitted.
