Senior Housing Planner - Metropolitan Council (St. Paul)

Who: Metropolitan Council

What: The Metropolitan Council’s Community Development Division is responsible for regional growth strategy; planning and technical assistance to local communities; and parks and open space. This division also includes the Metropolitan Housing and Redevelopment Authority (Metro HRA) and Livable Communities Act programs.

General Duties:

This position will apply housing policy expertise to the implementation and updating of the Council's 2040 Housing Policy Plan and the administration of the Local Housing Incentives Account (LHIA) program, which funds affordable housing projects in partnership with the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. Will also build competency, take meaningful action, and contribute to the necessary infrastructure to advance racial equity within the Council and across the Twin Cities region.

LHIA is a part of Livable Communities Act programs, which provide funding for communities to invest in local economic revitalization, affordable housing initiatives, and development or redevelopment that connects different land uses and transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in city, urban, land use, or environmental planning; community development; or related field AND four (4) years of experience in grant coordination, land use planning, housing policy, community development, economic development, or related field. OR Master’s degree and two (2) years of experience.

Starting salary range: $35.17 - $39.91 Hourly/ $73,154 -$83,013 Annually

Full salary range: $35.17 -$53.08 Hourly /$73,154 - $110,406 Annually
