Communications Associate/Other positions - Metro Strategies

Who: Metro Strategies

What: This position is for a versatile communications professional who can assist in Metro Strategies' marketing and communications activities and provide communications support to project teams. This person must have strong communications skills, including writing and producing print and digital/multi-media materials.

Metro Strategies has offices in Downers Grove and Chicago. The primary location for this position is Downers Grove.

The Communications Associate is expected to exemplify the firm’s core values of leadership, problem-solving, accountability, professionalism, and continued personal and professional growth.

Key Duties:
  • Assists with content development, design and maintenance of firm communications and marketing materials (brochures, project sheets, bios/resumes, presentations, proposals, fact sheets, project reports, newsletters). 
  •  Assists project teams with communications activities (writing content, developing surveys, updating contact lists, creating e-newsletters). 
  • Assists with writing and creating graphics and visuals for projects and firm communication/marketing materials. 
  • Assists in management of social media content and platforms. 
  • Maintains and updates content on firm’s web site. 
  • Monitors and tracks marketing-related data, analytics and trends and produces regular reports. Provides insight, expertise and best practices to project teams in areas of multi-media, graphic design and visual storytelling; researches and recommends new marketing and communications tools. 
  • Assists in maintaining firm style guide (colors, logo, font); develops and maintains consistent, firm-branded templates. 
  • Assists in developing/maintaining image library and/or digital asset management system. 
  • Performs other duties as requested by the VP, Communications.
Required Skills:
  • Strong writing and visual story-telling skills. 
  • Experience with print, web, social media, video, graphics, and digital marketing/communications. 
  • Knowledge of innovative and effective methods of communication with a focus on technology and communications/marketing trends. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency using graphics software (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop). 
  • Experience using website content management systems and Google Analytics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365/SharePoint is a plus. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work under pressure and with tight deadlines. 
  •  Must be able to juggle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. QA/QC and editing skills. 
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism and two to four years of professional experience (including internships).
Salary Range: $40,00 -$55,000
