The Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for leading the fundraising and communication efforts of South Suburban PADS, a 27 year-old interfaith movement working to prevent and end homelessness in the south suburbs of Chicago.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise a part-time Administrative Assistant;
- Research corporate, foundation, individual and community funding opportunities;
- Write proposals, letters of inquiry, and related submissions;
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual, corporate and foundation prospects and donors;
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events. Support event committees and solicit sponsorships;
- Plan and manage the annual appeal process;
- Ensure appropriate follow-up and gift recognition, including reporting, award documentation, acknowledgements, and other correspondence;
- Prepare newsletters, social media posts, and other marketing materials;
- Maintain the website; and
- Other duties as assigned.

South Suburban PADS is seeking highly motivated candidates to help end homelessness in the south suburbs. Successful candidates will:
- Have 1-2 years of prior grant writing and fundraising experience;
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills for a variety of formats;
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills;
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- Relate well to a variety of individuals and groups; and
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and the Internet.

South Suburban PADS is an interfaith movement that has been working to prevent and end homelessness. Over the past 27 years, the organization has provided shelter and meals to enable over 17,000 people to survive homelessness. South Suburban PADS ultimately seeks to provide pathways home, and currently helps about 500 people to preserve or access affordable rental homes every year. More at sspads.org
