Open Positions Strategic Economics has two openings for the Associate position. We invite candidates with experience in urban planning, real estate economics, public finance, and/or regional economic analysis to apply. One of the two positions requires at least 2 years of directly relevant professional experience.
Associates work on a variety of projects that may include: real estate market analysis; development feasibility (pro forma) analysis; fiscal impact analysis; regional economic development strategies; transit economic benefits; infrastructure finance, and plan implementation strategies. The following skills and experience are required:
  • Masters degree in city planning, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills - the applicant must have experience analyzing various data sources, including Census and employment data.
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, regional economic analysis, pro forma modeling, market analysis, fiscal analysis, and ArcView GIS.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • For one of the positions, at least two years of professional experience in urban planning and real estate economics; while consulting experience preferred, other types of relevant experience (e.g., in public sector) may also be considered.
Creative thinkers are encouraged to apply. The ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and other staff as well as demonstrated experience with independent work and leadership is highly desirable.
The positions are full-time and available immediately. Salaries are commensurate with experience.
