Spin was known for launching the first stationless mobility program in Seattle, and has since expanded to become the exclusive electric scooter partner in mid-sized cities like Coral Gables, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky, and one of a few permitted scooter operators in large cities like Denver, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. The team embeds in cities and neighborhoods to understand their specific transportation needs, and hires locally from the community.

About the Role: Community Partnership Manager
Spin’s Community Partnerships Managers are responsible for owning and maintaining strong relationships with diverse organizations throughout their market region. The work completed by the Community Partnerships team is critical to the fulfillment of Spin’s Partnership Promise and other high-value company initiatives. The Midwest Community Partnerships Manager will be responsible for overseeing all community engagement activities in key Midwest markets and will manage a talented team. We are looking for a results-oriented business development professional based in Chicago to contribute substantially to our high-growth, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Help Spin expand its products and services in new cities and existing markets.
- Build a strategy for the Midwest region that enables Spin to meet key objectives related to equity, safety, and community engagement.
- Tailor messaging to convey the benefits of new mobility options to a broad group of stakeholders.
- Create business leads via direct outreach, events, and digital campaigns, and convert inbound inquiries into partners. Understand and cultivate unique perspectives on micromobility with strategic partners and establish robust opportunities to collaborate with Spin.
- Support leadership in tracking the Midwest region’s progress via CRM software and other tools.
- Create new pathways to customize and deliver Spin’s message.
- Contribute to a strong department and company culture.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
- 4-6 years of experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or government relations.
- 1-2 years building and managing a results-oriented team.
- Ability to discover, qualify, and execute partnerships with diverse organizations across multiple markets.
- Strategic thinker capable of designing engagement playbooks on an ongoing basis.
- Savvy technologist with previous experience in transportation, gov tech, smart cities, or urban planning.
- Experience with leading-edge mobility technology is a plus.
- Dynamic interpersonal and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to give public presentations to diverse audiences - existing local network is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of correspondence.
- Confident converting leads to partners with a collaborative approach.

Spin’s Partnerships team is seeking an outgoing Community Partnerships Associate who is dedicated to understanding the needs of individual communities and strengthening Spin’s micromobility offerings. The ideal Community Partnerships Associate is someone who cultivates trust with local organizations while delivering Spin’s partnership promise. This role will be responsible for executing Spin’s community engagement strategy in-market, and working on other priority initiatives as they arise.
Spin’s Community Partnerships Associates work within a regional territory and own the planning and execution of user outreach initiatives with local stakeholder groups, including key leaders, community organizations, and business improvement districts. Joining this high performing team, you will proactively build relationships to ensure Spin meets and exceeds all outreach requirements related to local permits. You will also grow Spin’s user base to bring new mobility options to communities that are underserved, and take the lead on innovative initiatives in your market. We are looking for a talented, results-oriented professional who is passionate about enhancing micromobility’s impact locally.
Responsibilities:
- Represent Spin in local markets, strengthening Spin’s brand, reputation and ability to deliver value to the community
- Build relationships with influencers (community organizations, advocacy groups, business improvement districts, etc) in your region, and develop quarterly engagement plans
- Represent Spin at local events (safety demonstrations, street fairs, parades, group rides, etc), and coordinate support with third-party resources when needed
- Promote Spin Access, Spin’s equity program designed to reduce barriers for diverse populations
- Fulfill all obligations required by Spin’s local operating agreements and permits in conjunction with the Government Partnerships team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with regional General Managers and operations teams to maintain a strong understanding of operational priorities
- Collect, track, and report local data as required according to internal and external requests Build alliances with local Chambers of Commerce and other organizations to support Business Team objectives
- 2-4+ years of experience in a business development or community advocacy role, with demonstrated skills planning and executing events, building coalitions, conducting grassroots advocacy, and/or executing sales
- Strong cultural competence and ability to communicate effectively with all users and groups
- Dynamic interpersonal and presentation skills, comfortable speaking publicly to diverse audiences
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of correspondence
- Confident prospecting new alliances and converting leads to partners with a collaborative approach Strong project management skills and great attention to detail
- Passion for mobility, equity, and your region
