Who: Parks & Recreation Department – Planning & Design Services Division – City of Kansas City, MO
What: Senior Planning Technician. Specializes in technical and administrative work of advanced and technical dimensions consisting of a wide range and variety of archival and records management projects. Assists with the inventory, preparation for microfilming, conservation, and storage of architectural and engineering drawings. Sorts, processes, cross checks project information on capital projects with established cataloging procedures. Enters information into the database. Properly repairs drawings and photos when necessary according to accepted archival procedures. Prepares documents for microfilming by checking the information on the drawings, putting them in correct order, and creating informational sheets. Places documents into storage according to established procedure. Retrieves drawings from storage. Learns about the relationship of the documents to the projects and types of medium involved. Learns about history of the Department and City of Kansas City, taking into account various aspects of the 125 year old department and the significance of its workings in shaping the City. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: high school graduation and 5 years of responsible experience in the various phases and techniques of planning illustration, including cartography and map work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education.
Benefits: $16.64-$26.33/hour.
