Community Development Director, Village of Brookfield

Who: Village of Brookfield

What: The Village is seeking an innovative, visionary leader with proven experience who will challenge processes to ensure smart growth, to serve as its next Community Development Director.

Responsibilities:

The Community Development Director will play an integral role in advancing the economic development goals of the Brookfield community. This senior management team position reports to the Village Manager and is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the Community Development department, and its divisions of Planning, Building, and Economic Development.  The Director will manage the Village’s Tax Increment Financing districts and will be involved in implementing the goals contained in the recently updated Comprehensive Plan. 

The successful candidate will be a collaborative professional with the ability to anticipate challenges in advance; a relationship builder who works well in a team environment and is comfortable working across all areas of the organization and the community; has the ability to establish credibility and trust skillfully and quickly among stakeholders; embrace the Village’s efforts to provide exceptional customer service for both internal and external customers; and is capable of overseeing multiple project and effectively translate direction clearly and concisely when delegating to others.


Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field is required.  A Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field of study is preferred along with demonstrated experience in managing high-profile municipal projects. Municipal government experience should include at least five years in a management capacity.
